Following the sweeping trend, Gwent will be released as a standalone card game this year. The game was made immensely popular by players in The Witcher 3, and now die-hard fans will get their wish this fall.
Lead Designer Damien Monnier, announced the four main factions in the game, as well as the playgwent.com website where players can sign up and play the closed beta. The access will only be granted to those on XBOX One and Windows PC at first, with the game being released this September.
The cross-play gaming Microsoft and XBOX has been promoting is present in Gwent. Players can battle across the Windows platforms, as well as take down AI opponents in an expansive single player campaign.
