While Mother’s Day is a great time for children to show love and gratitude to their moms, Gypsy Rose Blanchard probably should have kept a low profile during this holiday. Obviously, The Life After Lock Up star has every right to express how she feels about her late mother, good or bad. However, she shouldn’t expect the Internet to give a warm acceptance of her perspective, especially when taking her past into account.
Viewers Send Gypsy Rose Blanchard Death Threats After Her Mother’s Day Video on TikTok
It’s no secret that Gypsy Rose Blanchard is known as the convict celebrity who was responsible for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Regardless of how she feels now toward her late mom, many didn’t take kindly to her Mother’s Day tribute on TikTok. The backlash was incredibly severe; TMZ reports that some individuals went even as far as sending the Mommy Dead and Dearest actress death threats.
Of course, there’s no justification for such comments on anyone, regardless of their past. Still, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, of all people, should have expected such a reaction when she posted about Mother’s Day.
In the post, Gypsy Rose states,
“No one can take away my own feelings about my own mother. No one should be able to have an opinion about my mother except for family and me.”
The Act star goes on to say,
“I’ve been working for years on forgiveness, and I hope that she’s in Heaven. And I hope that, to some degree, I made her proud of at least some of the achievements I made in my life while growing up.”
The ex to Ryan Anderson then says a prayer for her mother Dee before going on to praise the “other women in her life,” namely her stepmom Kristy Blanchard. Watching the video, it’s rather apparent that Gypsy Rose Blanchard is sincere in her tribute to her mom, as people can change, learn from their mistakes, and become a ‘better person’ over time.
However, people will never forget the wrongs of an individual from years ago, regardless if they paid the consequences of their actions, as Gypsy did in prison. That said, Mother’s Day is most clearly the one holiday that The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard actress should have celebrated privately and not openly on social media.
Maybe she forgave her mother, who perhaps has done the same in the afterlife. But the Internet will never overlook the murderer of her mother trying to celebrate Mother’s Day, of all holidays.
