Overall, Genshin Impact has some of the best character design for a Gacha game out there. The massive amount of effort put into creating each character’s abilities, personality, and story is remarkable. Overall, Genshin Impact doesn’t have any “bad characters.” Despite this, some Genshin characters don’t share the same amount of popularity as others. Of course, no matter how good the Genshin characters are, a few are bound to be the least played. Here is a list of underappreciated Genshin Impact characters that deserve more love.
10. Rosaria
First, Rosaria is a 4-star Cryo Polearm user from Mondstadt and one of the least popular characters in the game. Overall, Rosaria could be a more interesting character gameplay-wise. Her kit isn’t flashy, and her abilities could be better for the meta. However, although she is one of the least popular Genshin Impact characters, her design is intriguing, and her personality is hard to forget.
9. Dori
Next, Dori is arguably one of the most forgotten yet underappreciated Genshin Impact characters of the Sumeru region. Despite only recently being released, Dori has fallen into the leagues of other unpopular characters. Gameplay-wise, Dori has a very bizarre kit and odd playstyle. Nevertheless, once you get used to her, she may be a fun Electro Claymore user to add to your party.
8. Razor
Razor is another Electro Claymore character in Genshin Impact, who is our next underappreciated character in need of some love. Despite being one of the first notable faces you encounter, he has largely faded into obscurity. Razor isn’t a bad character overall; he just gets outclassed by better options. Those with a soft spot for lupine-style characters should consider adding Razor to their main team.
7. Xiangling
The next underappreciated Genshin Impact character for this list is Xinagling, the chef. Wielding a Pyro Vision and a Polearm, Xiangling is available for free by completing the beginning of the Spiral Abyss. Due to this, many players write her off as weak. However, if built properly, Xiangling can make a strong addition to any party.
6. Chongyun
As far as underappreciated Genshin Impact characters go, Chongyun has one of the most interesting designs. Combining a Claymore weapon and Cryo Vision makes for a unique kit for combat. However, much like Razor, Chongyun is outclassed by Eula in almost every way. This combination of reasons leads to Chongyun being one of the least-played Genshin characters, despite his many positive attributes.
5. Kujou Sara
Despite being a powerful character, Kujou Sara has left a minimal impression on the Genshin community. In terms of meta, Kujou Sara is an Electro support that can easily trigger Elemental reactions and recharge energy. In terms of story, on the other hand, her position in terms of Raiden Shogun makes her often forgotten. However, if you do happen to have this underappreciated Genshin Impact character, she may be worth building into your party.
4. Diona
Diona, overall, has a good design and a solid meta presence. However, she suffers a similar fate to Kujou Sara. Sadly, Diona is another excellent support character with an effective yet rather dull kit. Sadly, Diona’s niche in the story doesn’t place her in the limelight a lot. As a bartender in Mondstadt, she rarely sees any impactful screen time. Hopefully, this lack of screen time will change more in the future and bring Diona out of the underappreciated Genshin Impact characters group.
3. Gorou
Next up, Gorou is an extremely niche Geo character that sadly flies below the radar. Despite having a great personality and design, Gorou is a character that works almost exclusively with other Geo characters. Due to this, many players leave him out of their parties, leading him to become one of Genshin Impact’s most underappreciated characters.
2. Amber
One of the saddest underappreciated characters in Genshin Impact is Amber. Amber is a Pyro Bow user who has been with the Traveler since the very beginning of the game. Besides Paimon, Amber is your first ally in Teyvat and the first character you can obtain besides the Traveler. Sadly, she isn’t the game’s strongest or most interesting character. Plus, the story’s progression has sadly left her behind, like many other characters.
1. Beidou
Finally, the most underappreciated Genshin Impact character would have to be Beidou. Wielding a Claymore and Electro Vision, Beidou is both amazing in character design and decent in terms of power. While she could be better, her cool pirate aesthetic and fun abilities make for a very enjoyable character. It’s a shame that she is one of the least-played characters in Genshin. Hopefully, we will see a resurgence of love for Beidou someday.
