When Tammy tied the knot with Caleb Willingham on November 19, 2022, in a private ceremony held at the rehabilitation center in Ohio, where they met, it marked a significant achievement for the 1000-Lb Sisters star. However, the wedding ceremony, which aired during the season 4 finale of 1000-Lb Sisters in March, drew mixed reactions from the show’s viewers.
At the time, many fans expressed concerns over how quickly the couple’s relationship resulted in marriage, with some even alleging that their marriage didn’t feel right. Nonetheless, the pair looked happy and seemingly in love during the wedding ceremony. Sadly, just as some fans predicted, the couple began experiencing problems months after their marriage.
According to reports, their conflict started after Tammy returned to her home in Kentucky after completing her treatment in February, leaving Caleb at the Ohio weight-loss facility. The move reportedly caused a strain in their relationship, and Tammy sparked divorce rumors when she removed “Willingham” from her name on all her social media accounts. Although Tammy’s move started a lot of discussions about the state of their relationship, Caleb poured more fuel into the fire recently.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, captured via screenshot by a Reddit user, Caleb hinted that he and Tammy had split and that their breakup was solely on Tammy and not him. In the post, Caleb wrote:
“If you were only here for my wife, then please delete me now. We are married by paper only right now. [It was] her decision, not mine. It was more than that. I’m hurt, mad, confused, and alone, even with others around. Thank you for your love, prayer, and support.”
Despite various optimism and conflicting reports, Caleb’s cryptic post confirmed that his marriage to Tammy had hit the rocks. However, it also provided some clues on certain debates about the status and genuineness of their romance.
Caleb and Tammy’s Marriage Was Probably Scripted for 1000-Lb Sisters
Caleb and Tammy’s marriage was suspicious right from the beginning. As the two prepared for their weddings, they faced their first challenge from Tammy’s family, who raised doubts about the duo’s rapid-fire wedding. Tammy and Caleb decided to tie the knot after only dating for a few weeks, and this screamed danger for 1000-Lb Sisters fans. Despite the two confessing their love for each other during their wedding ceremony, many of the show’s fans were still suspicious of their whirlwind romance. Some fans alleged that the producers probably scripted their marriage to create another interesting storyline on the hit TLC series.
So, it didn’t come as a surprise when rumors emerged that the couple struggled to cope with their long-distance marriage after Tammy moved to her home in Kentucky. An insider close to the couple later told the U.S. Sun that Tammy wanted more effort on Caleb’s part in pushing his transfer from Ohio to a clinic in Kentucky. The insider said:
“Tammy is sad her husband is not with her. She is frustrated Caleb has not made an effort to move to a facility in Kentucky from Ohio. They have been arguing because she feels he is not handling the transfer with urgency.”
Amidst his marriage turmoil with Tammy, Caleb previously took to Facebook to post a cryptic message that made fans infer their marriage was a sham. If some still believed that the couple was genuinely in love, Caleb’s latest Facebook post has the majority of the 1000-Lb Sisters fans convinced that the two were probably never in love with each other.
Caleb and Tammy Are Avoiding Responsibility for Their Relationship Struggles
In Caleb’s now-deleted Facebook divorce post, he blamed their relationship woes on his wife, Tammy. Caleb claimed their split was Tammy’s decision, revealing how devastated he was by their separation. However, this starkly contrasts with what was earlier reported by the U.S. Sun in March. A source close to the couple told the publication that tensions were building between them as they struggled to adapt to their long-distance marriage.
Caleb was supposed to transfer from the Ohio rehab center to a clinic in Kentucky to be closer to Tammy, but the source revealed Caleb didn’t make any concrete move to effect the transfer. His inactivity inadvertently caused a rift between the newlyweds, with Tammy understandably frustrated with the lack of desire shown by Caleb to be with her.
Despite all the bad press surrounding their marriage, 1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy was on TikTok live a few days ago, confirming that her marriage to Caleb was still intact. Although she didn’t give any further details about their marriage, that was enough to get fans talking on social media and build some positivity around her marriage.
However, that optimism reduced after Caleb’s Facebook post. Although he has since deleted the controversial post, fans believe it is due to his contractual obligations to TLC. Still, with part B of season 4 expected to air anytime soon, fans can expect to still catch some action from these two.
