EA has been the arbiter of Star Wars video games for quite a long time. Many know their revival of Star Wars Battlefront in 2015 with DICE, which was received poorly at launch. While the franchise saw some success with an eventual sequel, EA has been silent on the future. Considering Motive studios Star Wars Squadrons tried to emulate the firefights of Battlefront, many were still holding out hope for an actual third installment for an official DICE trilogy. Respawn Entertainment has finally flipped the script on EA’s track record. Jedi Fallen Order shaped up and was everything players wanted. Released in 2010, it set players in the hands of a single-player adventure by Respawn Entertainment. Regaled as one of the best Star Wars video games in a very long time, EA has had a close eye on Respawn. Since announcing a Jedi Fallen Order sequel, Lucasfilm announced 2 Star Wars video games being developed at Respawn Entertainment.

When Is Respawn Entertainment Revealing The 2 Upcoming Star Wars Video Games?

While the news is exciting, EA has been here before in 2014. EA has solely trusted the Star Wars rights to one developer in the past. Investing most of their money and development into DICE and eventually Motive Studios, EA hoped to see real returns. Yet, while the Battlefront revival duo aimed to recreate the feeling of classic Star Wars titles, EA is putting a lot of stock into Respawns games. Working on a brand new FPS and strategy title in the Star Wars universe is a tall order for any team. Despite the release and reveal of these projects still being far off, many are curious about other Respawn Entertainment titles like Titanfall. Despite this, Respawn Entertainment has grown considerably, and Lucasfilm is confident in these upcoming games.
