Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia The Lost Crown came out to instant critical and fan acclaim as one of the best Metroidvanias ever made. But, the developers, Ubisoft Montpellier, aren’t finished with the game just yet as they have announced plans for more upcoming content and modes for The Lost Crown, a lot of which will come as an entirely free DLC update.
Initially announced via X (Formerly Twitter) by the director of the game, Mounir Radi, who thanked fans for the game’s impressive reception since its release. He went on to say that the team was “far from done” when it came to The Lost Crown. The team has plans that they are excited to reveal in the next few months. As for what we can expect, Ubisoft hasn’t given up too much information apart from the promise of more challenges and exploration.
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown Free DLC Update Coming Soon
This upcoming content isn’t all in the far-future either, one free update is coming soon. Radi also said that fans should try and finish the game in the Immortals difficulty to polish up their skills as they will come in handy after the free update.
In our review of Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, we gave the game a very good 8.5/10. The combat system and exploration are some of the best in the entire genre. Not to mention the intuitive and creative new additions like the Memory Shard, which lets you take a picture of an in-game area and place it on the map for future reference.
Although at first fans were apprehensive about the reboot of the franchise, it has ended up in the good graces of Metroidvania lovers. That’s not to say Ubisoft has forgotten about the fans of the older games. According to the last update from Ubisoft, the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake is being worked on at a good pace and has reached some important milestones.
