Bad Bunny‘s Ex-girlfriend files a lawsuit against the singer more than five years after their separation, seeking $40 million from him. Here’s everything about the lawsuit.
Since beginning his career in 2013, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny has never released a bad song. He has been going strong in the game and has managed to acquire a $ 16 million net worth.
Apart from creating hit songs, the famous rapper has been linked to quite a number of women. There has also been a rumor of an engagement with his current lover, Gabriela Berlingeri.
But what seems to be making the rounds these days is not the rumors surrounding the romance. Bad Bunny is set to be embroiled in a court case after an ex-lover comes for him.
Carliz de la Cruz, Bad Bunny’s ex-girlfriend, files a lawsuit against him. The duo had dated for about five years. After an initial separation, they reconciled in 2017, but it did not last.

Bad Bunny’s Ex-Girlfriend Files $40 Million Lawsuit In a Puerto Rican Court
Bad Bunny’s ex-girlfriend files lawsuit of $40 Million, highlighting exploitation as her reason. De La Cruz told the court that her “distinguishable voice” has featured in a few of his songs.
This included the rapper’s “Pa Ti” and “Dos Mil 16” tracks, where she chimed “Bad Bunny, baby.” Her ex-lover also used the catchy phrase for marketing purposes, in concerts and on music streaming apps.
In the lawsuit, fans have refused to respect her privacy. The songs have led them to comment on her social media platforms. She is also harassed in public places. Teasing her with the “Bad Bunny Baby” has left her feeling nervous and worried.
In the lawsuit filing where De La Cruz requested $40 million, she claimed Bad Bunny had been in touch. He had contacted her through a representative last year. At the time, the rapper intended to pay her off with $2000.
Despite refusing the offer, Rima Music, his music label, contacted her. The label sought to buy the rights to the recording for “Dos Mil 16,” off his album.
Bad Bunny’s $40 million lawsuit highlights that his ex-girlfriend was clear of not wanting her voice to be exploited. According to the document:
“Its publication constituted an act of gross negligence, bad faith, and, worse still, an attack on their privacy, morals, and dignity since all parties had and still have knowledge of these facts and even so decided to be reckless and break the law.”
For now, Bad Bunny has refused to comment on the situation, and neither has a court date been declared. However, it appears that De La Cruz is out to defend herself and protect her mental health.
