I play an embarrassingly large roster of Roblox games with my sister. We don’t really have a preference for what we like; just so long as it keeps our attention for more than 20 minutes. Realistically, even if we do get bored with any of the below selections, we just easily rotate to another one in the list. It’s one of the things that I love about Roblox. It’s too bad that picking the five best Roblox games to play with friends is so hard. Let’s just jump into my favorites.
5. Lost Rooms
The first game on this list is Lost Rooms, a horror-themed game that takes influence from games about the backrooms and liminal spaces. In this Roblox game, you and your friends can choose from different room types to explore and discover monsters and creatures. Much of the game relies on jump scares, which makes playing with a microphone a little straining on the ears when my sister starts screaming (I’m sure her ears are bleeding from my doing the same thing).
One of the most interesting aspects of the game is regardless of what theme you choose, every room is randomly generated for a completely new experience. I wish it made guessing how the creatures would sneak up on you a little easier. We also discovered that playing on mobile devices is great (We tested it at the grocery store).
4. Jailbreak
I love the idea of playing a roleplaying game with my sister, but the problem we usually run into is the scale of those games. We wanted to play something that scaled down WHAT you can roleplay and focused more on HOW you roleplay. In Jailbreak, you choose between being a Police Officer or a Prisoner, to play cat and mouse. As a Prisoner, you must escape from the Police and as an Officer, you catch the Prisoners.
The roleplaying can become intense with Prisoners creating strategically organized crimes like bank heists. Even as an Officer, you can do your part in helping the community by putting the bad guys behind bars. We like to jump in Jailbreak when we have a little bit more time to spare playing games.
3. Survive The Killer
I’m a huge fan of games like Friday the 13th and Dead by Daylight, which made recommending Survive the Killer to my sister a no-brainer. You and your teammates have to hide from the killer and escape the area before he comes to, well, kill you. You can choose from a variety of killers to be if you get chosen for the role and, in typical Roblox fashion, there are tons of different weapons and cabins for you to spend Robux on. As adults with jobs, we’ll happily spend our hard-earned cash on in-game currency.
Something I like specifically about this game is that the matches are quick. They’re five minutes long before the exits to escape open up, which allows my sister and I to jump in and out when we want. Survive the Killer makes lunchtime a lot more fun.
2. Slap Battles
Slap Battles is on here because I sometimes need my sister to earn badges more easily. There are a lot of gloves that can only be attained if some deus ex machina happens after another user uses a certain type of glove. Rather than waiting around for players even to consider helping me, I call in a friend. Despite that, it’s also fun to go on the journey of earning slaps and gloves together.
I found that Slap Battles is also one of the easier Roblox games to keep up with regarding updates. There’s quite literally a conveyor belt that showcases every glove and how to get them. The latest one will just be at the end after the previously released one. The later game ones are intimidating, but it’s just something that I look forward to whenever we jump on Roblox with friends.
1. Outlaster
We like Outlaster because you’re essentially playing the Roblox version of Survivor. We love doing Obbys, but they can become repetitive after a while. This game allows us to get that same platforming fix while also working towards badges. Since it’s Survivor, players need to vote people off during an in-game elimination event at the end of each round. It becomes unnecessarily tense as players tend to roleplay amongst each other.
Outlaster on Roblox is a lot more fun with friends, which is why it’s number one on this list. When you’re all playing together, just get ready for a brutal Discord voice chat.
Roblox is available to play on PlayStation, Xbox, mobile devices, and PC via the Roblox launcher and Game Pass.
