While Helldivers 2 features many weapons to defeat foes, only a few stand as the best after every balance patch. Paying attention to how each gun ranks will allow you to liberate the galaxy most destructively. Whether you like to get up close to the enemies and blast them with a shotgun or aim from afar to take them out hitman-style, there are plenty of ways to do it. Still, there are a few weapons we consider the best for every mission type, and you should save your medals to unlock them.
Best Warbond Weapons in Helldivers 2
[Updated on 9 March and rearranged certain weapons due to the recent balance changes.]
Before we start this list, we want to clarify something. We only included weapons from the standard Warbond and didn’t include support weapons. While you can buy the premium Warbond, we think it is better to recommend things that don’t require much grinding or investing real money. We’d rather make a separate list for the support weapons because they all bring different things to the table in a way normal weapons don’t. But, with that out of the way, let’s see which are the best guns you can have in the game.
5. R-63 Diligence
The inferior version of the Diligence Counter Sniper deserves a spot as one of the best weapons in Helldivers 2. The main reason it makes the list is its capacity. Yes, it might sound like a petty thing, but if you’ve experienced a bug breach in hard or challenging difficulty, then you know why having more bullets is important. This one has a slightly lower damage but shares the same recoil and fire rate as its improved version. Again, the 20-bullet capacity is something we value a lot when fighting and when supplies are running low.
4. R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper
While this is part of page 7 of the standard Warbond in Helldivers 2, it doesn’t reach the top as the best weapon; still, it has many things to offer. First, this long-range weapon greatly increases damage for those who prefer a more marksman kind of playstyle. Yes, it doesn’t have a lot of armor penetration, but the range and damage make up for it. This gun is extremely useful in some medium and hard missions against Automatons. Due to how easy it is to land headshots, you might want to bring it when fighting this alien machinery.

All Stratagems in Helldivers 23. AR-23P Liberator Penetrator
Despite its medium armor penetrating, after using it in recent operations, the Liberator Penetrator didn’t make the cut. This one is on page 6 of the standard Warbond, and while its damage isn’t something to write home about, it is helpful for those who prefer to play solo or provide a bit of support to other Helldivers with different loadouts. We eagerly await the studio to buff this weapon or give it something better when fighting anti-democratic foes. But despite its bonuses, it still falls short compared to other guns.
2. SG-8 Punisher
During the last balance patch, the SG-8 got some fantastic buff, thus becoming one of the best weapons in Helldivers 2. It doesn’t have the firing rate of the Breaker, but its damage and reload capabilities make up for that. Furthermore, it is easy to unlock and one of the first guns new Helldivers should consider using. However, we only recommend using this in easy difficulties where enemies aren’t as challenging as the ones you might find in level seven and above operations.
1. SG-225 Breaker
Even after the recent patch, the SG-225 Breaker remains the best weapon in Helldivers 2. You can find it on page 4 of the standard Warbond, and it’s a great choice for those who want to get close and personal. Furthermore, this gun provides a lot of damage potential and a good firing rate; you won’t even feel this is a shotgun with how fast it shoots. Yes, it doesn’t have a lot of armor penetration, but it is an ideal gun when fighting in close areas like Terminid nests.
Ultimately, it is up to you to make your favorite build, and in the end, you should see what your other teammates have. Still, we think these are the best guns you can get in Helldivers 2 if you’re up for farming medals, but if you don’t, a rocket launcher to the enemy’s face always does the trick.
