Genshin Impact has come a long way since it’s 2020 release. Since then, it has seen a consistent and ever-improving share of success in several markets and genres. Naturally, games like Genshin Impact also want a part of that success and if you’re looking for an alternative while your Resin refills, check out these five best ga mes like Genshin Impact in 2024.

[Updated on August 13, 2024 – Revised the list based on new 2024 games]

5. Granblue Fantasy Relink

If you love Genshin Impact’s blend of RPG elements and elemental dynamics, Granblue Fantasy Relink is a must-play in 2024. What sets it apart is its deep, character-driven story rooted in the Granblue Fantasy universe. It’s also a good mix between Monster Hunter and Genshin Impact.

The best part? It’s offline, no need for constant internet connection and there are no gacha mechanics. You can treat it as Genshin Impact-lite with a similar anime charm.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

It’s safe to say that without The Legend of Zelda, there would be no Genshin Impact. While it doesn’t feature the same gacha mechanics, it offers an expansive open world full of exploration and discovery which inspired Genshin Impact.

This sequel to Breath of the Wild takes everything great about its predecessor and adds even more depth to the story, world-building, and gameplay mechanics. It also has one good advantage against Genshin Impact: it’s available on the Nintendo Switch.

3. AFK Journey

For players who enjoy the casual aspects of Genshin Impact, AFK Journey is a great pick. This near-idle RPG allows you to build a team of heroes, embark on quests, and explore a fantasy world without the time investment of more intensive games.

Its approach is more laid-back and the gacha mechanics are more generous. AFK Journey also offers plenty of strategic depth with its hero combinations and battle mechanics. Plus, the gameโ€™s art style and character designs are reminiscent of Genshin, making it a perfect match for fans looking for a similar but more casual experience.

2. Solo Leveling: ARISE

If you’re a fan of action-packed anime and fast-paced gacha gameplay, Solo Leveling: ARISE is the game for you. Based on the popular manhwa, this action RPG features intense battles (more intense than Genshin), powerful abilities, and a faithful storyline that might eventually get ahead of the anime.

It does assume a modern fantasy setting, but the gameplay is closer to Genshin Impact than some of Genshin‘s sister games. Moreover, the character design is superb and stylish, something that will appeal to Genshin Impact fans.

1. Wuthering Waves

As far as Genshin Impact “clones” go, Wuthering Waves takes the cake. It’s fantasy, open-world, and even features a similar elemental system. That’s why it’s our top pick for the best game like Genshin Impact to play in 2024.

While it did fall short of being a Genshin-killer (as expected), Wuthering Waves is a promising alternative that will scratch your gacha itch nonetheless.
