Lego Fortnite is not without its shortcomings. When you first start the game, the world draws you in, but it loses its magic in a short time. For example, when you move to the Dry Valley biome in the game, it starts to become monotonous. Unlike the Lego world itself, the game doesn’t exactly give you the freedom you dream of. There are some improvements Epic could certainly make, and here we’ll run through what we’d like to see.
1. Vehicle Variety
We all know that Lego Fortnite needs much, much more mobility. Cars and Hot Air Balloons are a pain to use right now and they are the only way to get anywhere fast.
It’s extremely frustrating considering how big the map is. You can get Steering Wheel action by doing various things to these vehicles, but you have to spend a lot of time. In addition to Steering Wheel, Epic Games should add wild creatures that can be tamed and ridden, such as Horse, if you ask me. Or new Toys should be added where we can build different vehicles.
2. Animal, Enemy Variety & Bosses
In Lego Fortnite, there is very, very little Animal and Enemy variety. We can say that all creatures in the game are the same, only their health bars and damage increase. In each biome, the same animal or monster has a different color, so there is no diversity and this should change immediately.
Because of this, the game becomes boring and monotonous and there is no sense of progression. Apart from that, bosses can be added to the game for the end game or to get certain materials. There are bosses almost every season in Battle Royale, so I don’t think it would be difficult for Epic Games to integrate this into Lego Fortnite.
3. Item & Weapon Variety
There are only 2 types of Weapons and 3-4 types of Tools in the game. These are Crossbow, Sword, Shovel, Forest Axe, Pickaxe and Shield. So you only have 2 weapon options to kill an enemy in the game and 3 Tool options to collect materials.
This alone shows how shallow the game is at the moment and I hope this will change in the future. The game is very simple as it is now, and you can get to the end game very quickly. There is no such thing as a survival game grind, and that needs to change for the sake of Lego Fortnite‘s player base.
4. Better Farming & Animal Husbandry
In the first few hours of the game, the lack of farming and animal husbandry starts to make itself noticeable. The reason for this is that farming in the game is not very advanced. Worse than that, there is almost nothing involved in animal husbandry. The only interaction you can have with animals is to pet them and get materials and fertilizers from them. However, a real survival player, especially a Minecraft player, immediately thinks of gathering these animals and building a dedicated ranch for them in the village.
Thus, items such as Milk, Egg, Wool, and Fertilizer can be obtained more easily. Unfortunately, such a mechanic is not available in Lego Fortnite. You can bait animals by throwing seeds on the ground, but this is extremely laborious and not ideal. In addition, you can’t breed animals, which is also a minus in my opinion.
Also, even Battle Royale has Fishing, but the lack of this in Lego Fortnite is a big omission. Especially in this mode, Fishing can be much more advanced and enjoyable than in Battle Royale, and I hope Epic Games will consider adding it to the game.
5. Oversea Biomes
There’s nothing special about building a vehicle in the game right now except for traveling fast, which is not a bad thing. But if there were biomes that were overseas and you could only reach them by Boat or Hot Air Balloon, the game would be much more intriguing and worth playing. It’s a good game in its current form, but it’s not for every survival gamer. And if improvements like these don’t arrive soon, the hype will slowly fade.
