Everyone put your thinking caps on; there’s a new Brain Age game coming to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo revealed a trailer via their YouTube channel earlier today. As one would expect, the new game seems to take full advantage of the Switch’s unique hardware for its minigames. One of the single-player games is Rock, Paper, Scissors, which uses the sensor in the Joy-Con to sense which shape your hand is making. Similarly, another minigame requires you to add quickly and put up the correct amount of digits. But there are plenty of two-player games as well. One such has both players counting certain objects in a short amount of time to see who gets the number right. You can check out the full trailer below.

So far, a release is only set for Japan on December 27th, 2019. However, given how popular the original DS games are, it would be surprising if Nintendo didn’t release the game worldwide. There are 3 games in the original series: two on the DS and one on the 3DS, which released in 2012. Nintendo has long prided itself on releasing games for all types of players. And Brain Age entertained more non-traditional gamers.

Brain Age presents the player with a series of entertaining puzzles across a variety of categories like Math, Memory, and Sudoku. The games improve your quick thinking and keep your brain active. Each entry sold and reviewed fairly well. And Switch’s popularity will undoubtedly introduce the series to a host of new players.

A Counting Game Seen in Brain Age on Switch

Nintendo seems to be focusing more on the hardware that sets the Switch apart. In addition to continued Labo support, they’re also releasing their Ring-Con alongside a brand new game. The new Brain Age should feature the same simple but addictive gameplay that made its predecessors fun. Here’s hoping the rest of the world will get to play it.
