Resources make the world go round in V Rising, because without them, you’d have nothing to build your shade with against the sun, and your pretty vampire will burn. There are times, however, when you don’t want to gather or harvest, and the good old-fashioned recycling might be the better option (especially for old equipment). Hence, here’s how you can salvage your stuff in V Rising.
Requirements Before You Can Salvage in V Rising
[Updated on April 29, 2025 – Guide revised for better clarity with added steps and a salvage table]
As expected, the option to salvage in V Rising won’t be available right away. You will need to first murder someone to unlock the schematics for the structure that lets you salvage. Follow these steps to get there:
- Make sure your equipment puts you at Level 30.
- Open the boss hunt list or the V Blood Carriers list. Ideally, slay everyone up to Level 27.
- Look for Lidia, the Chaos Archer, track her, and slay her. You’ll usually find her wandering on the roads of Farbane Woods.
- Once Lidia, the Chaos Archer is dead, you’ll get the schematics for The Devourer.
You’re going to need some easy-to-obtain materials in order to build The Devourer once you have the schematics:
- Plank
- Copper Ingot
The amount depends on your settings, though do prepare at least a dozen of each material. Of course, you’ll also need to allot space in your Castle in order to build The Devourer, though thankfully, it doesn’t take up much.
How to Use The Devourer to Salvage
Once you’ve built your Devourer structure, walk up to it and activate it. You’ll then be presented with UI panels, asking which resources you want salvaged. Make sure that you don’t need whatever you’re salvaging because you’ll be getting back the crafting costs at a loss.
For equipment, you can only get back 25 percent of what you spent crafting it. Cloaks get better outputs as you can get back 50 percent of the crafting materials for them. Additionally, some items yield different materials when salvaged, so take note of this table to get the most out of salvaging in V Rising.

Salvaging, as you can see, is a great way to get some emergency Silver Coins for purchasing weapons from Merchants during mid-game.
