Bethesda’s highly-anticipated Doom Eternal has been delayed to March 20th, 2020. The studio released a statement via Twitter, explaining “To make sure we’re delivering the best experience – for DOOM Eternal to live up to our standards of speed and polish – we’ve made the decision to extend our launch date by a  few months to March 20th, 2020”.

Along with this, the studio also revealed some more information about what will and won’t be available when Doom Eternal launches next year. First up, Bethesda announced that the game’s Invasion Mode will be included in a free update shortly after the game releases. This mode will let you join another player’s game as a demon to wreak havoc.

Our second update is unfortunate for those Nintendo Switch owners who are dying to get their hands on Doom Eternal, as they will have to wait a little longer than other platforms.

The final update Bethesda shared in the statement was a new pre-order bonus for Xbox One PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC players. If you pre-order Doom Eternal, you will also get a copy of Doom 64. The classic game will be available for you on the launch day of Doom Eternal. You can check out Bethesda’s statement below:

For many fans, E3 2019 was not an exciting one for Bethesda. Well, unless you were that one guy who was really just pumped up to be at the event. Despite the lackluster showing, Doom Eternal still lit up the internet with its showcase at E3 and was left the expo as one of the best games to watch out for this year. Now, the title moves on to Spring 2020, which is loaded with big releases such as The Last of Us: Part II, Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Dying Light 2. It’ll be interesting to see how the game performs next year.

Are you disappointed by this delay? Do you still plan to buy the game when it releases in March? Let us know in the comments below!
