Moons of Madness is hitting your PC next week. Just in time for Halloween, the Lovecraftian science fiction horror will land on Steam a few months before it makes an appearance on consoles. In order to help you decide whether or not to buy it, developer Funcom has released the minimum PC requirements.

The good news is, Moons of Madness isn’t going to be a holy terror on your computer.

Minimum:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-760 or equivalent / AMD Athlon X4 740 or equivalent
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 460 or MX150 (1024 MB) / Radeon R7 260X (2048 MB)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Disk space: Around 15 GB
  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 x64

Recommended:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K or equivalent / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or equivalent
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 (6144 MB) / Radeon RX 580 (8192 MB)
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Disk space: Around 15 GB
  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 x64

Moons of Madness

Certainly, Moons of Madness is going to need a higher-end PC in order to show off some pretty impressive visuals. Those who don’t have a top of the line computer will still be able to check out the horror title.

Lovecraft’s special brand of haunting monsters has been exploding in popularity over the last year or so. Call of Cthulhu and The Sinking City have both offered their own takes on creatures from another dimension.

Moons of Madness - Gameplay Teaser

Both of those titles were earthbound though. Moons of Madness puts players in the shoes of chief engineer Shane Newehart. Shane is on a research facility on Mars where something has gone terribly wrong.

Those who think the title has some similarities to Doom aren’t mistaken. The big difference here is that you won’t be blasting these hellish monsters to oblivion. Instead, running and hiding is going to be the goal while trying to unravel just what happened.

Moons of Madness will land on Steam on October 22. It’s coming to PS4 and the Xbox One next year, on January 21, 2020.
