KOEI Tecmo Games released a new trailer for their upcoming game Fairy Tail RPG.

During the trailer, we learn that not only will you play as many favorites from the anime (Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Erza Scarlet, and Gray Fullbuster), but you also get to play through the Grand Magic games and Tartaros’ arcs.

FAIRY TAIL - PV1

Fairy Tail RPG will also have an original story within the game so players will get to play through an entirely new adventure within the world of Fairy Tail. Players can take missions from the mission board and work your way up the ranks to become the number 1 guild in Fiore.

Announced at the 2019 Tokyo Game Show, KOEI Tecmo Games’ GUST Studios is developing the game along with creator, Hiro Mashima.

In last month’s Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Gust Studios released that the main campaign will have around 30 hours of gameplay and over 10 playable characters. As with most JRPGs, combat will be team-based as well as turn-based. Each character will have their own set of story episodes and there are also multiple side quests that can be completed.

The combinations of characters are also important. Fairy Tail RPG has a system where the more you use the same combination of characters, the synergy of the same characters will improve. At the moment, there is no news on whether there will be any DLC so stay tuned as more news comes along.

Fairy Tail has been very popular since its manga release in 2006. The manga ran until 2017 and has an anime adaption that ran from 2009 and had its final episode aired on September 29, 2019. There have also been two fil adaptations, Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess and Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry.

Fairy Tail RPG is currently being developed for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC and is set to release sometime in 2020.
