Listen up Dungeons & Dragons fans, D&D’s very own Wizards of the West Coast has announced that the DM and Chief Creative Officer of Critical Role, Matthew Mercer is working with them to release a new campaign book set is CriticalRole’s popular setting of Wildemount. According to Polygon, this new campaign book is set to come out on March 17, 2020, and costs $49.95.

A Popular Stream

Critical Role began in 2015 and since that time they’ve amassed a huge following, affectionately called Critters. The Twitch stream now has over 400K followers according to Twitch Tracker. The stream now offers its own art books, novel, and specialty items. This new campaign guide is sure to be a great addition to their comprehensive line up.

“Critical Role is a great example of why Dungeons & Dragons have been popular for over 45 years: a group of friends getting together, telling stories, and making each other laugh. In this case, the friends are talented performers playing live on camera, but the fun’s the same. We’re thrilled D&D fans and Critters alike can now enjoy playing in Matt’s world, as brought to the fifth edition in this lovingly-crafted book,” said Nathan Stewart, VP of Franchise for Dungeons & Dragons.

A World Of Possibilities

DM’s everywhere will get to explore the world of Wildemount through the framework set out by Matthew Mercer and the Critical Role team. This 300+ page guide contains everything Critters and D&D players need to start their own campaign in Wildemount. The guide is said to include player options like subclasses and magic items, as well as, a new character option, the Echo Knight.

This new guide is bound to be loads of fun and will be a great way for Critters and D&D fans to expand their knowledge of D&D’s possibilities. It will be wonderful to see how DMs work within Wildemount’s framework to create unique and interesting campaigns all their own.
