As a lot of you probably know, Crysis Remastered’s trailer got leaked a few days early through various online sources. We discussed it yesterday and it was set for a July 23rd release date. Unfortunately, fans weren’t too happy with the remaster’s look. Many took to social media to express their distaste, believing it to be nothing more than a cash grab by Crytek given how little was changed. In an unexpected turn of events though, Crytek has heard the prayers. This morning, the team released an announcement disclosing that they’d be delaying the game and its trailer by a few weeks. You can read that post below.

Crytek discusses how they feel players deserve a high-quality title that is worthy of the Crysis name. With that in mind, the game and trailer need to be delayed to further up the quality of the game. The team promises that they’re listening to feedback and that it’s being taken into consideration with extra polish. On top of that, Switch pre-orders will remain open as they’ve already been available to the public before this.
Honestly, I believe this is the right decision by Crytek. I saw the leaked trailer the other day and while I was excited to play an updated Crysis, the game didn’t look all that improved. It sported some higher quality textures, sure, but nothing that would honor that 13-year difference. Given Crytek’s reputation though, I believe they’re willing and able to bring this remaster up to much higher and more deserving standards. Whether that belief is warranted or not remains to be seen, but we’ll be sure to let you know when the trailer and game release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
My opinion isn’t the only one though. What do you think of the current Crysis Remastered’s look? Did you enjoy Crysis when it released back in 2007? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
