Hyper Scape, Ubisoft’s first foray into the battle royale genre, is launching on August 11th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One along with its Season One called ‘The First Principle’. If you have unlocked or purchased Technical Test and Open Beta cosmetic items by trying out the beta on PC or through Hyper Scape ‘Crowncast’ Twitch extension, Ubisoft promised that you will be able to keep them when playing on console, as the game supports cross-progression on all platforms.
To celebrate this occasion, Hyper Scape is also doing a special reward event this weekend. You can get 600 Bitcrowns in-game currency when the game is released, by simply doing one of these two things:
- Play the Open Beta for at least one hour this weekend, or,
- Watch eligible Hyper Scape streams on Twitch for at least one hour.
This giveaway is available starting on July 31 and lasts until the Open Beta ends on Sunday, August 2, 2020. Although there are things to note regarding watching the stream. Make sure the stream you’re going to watch has the Crowncast extension enabled. For this, the streamer must have linked their Uplay account using the extension and claimed at least one battle pass point to be eligible.
If you’re still confused about what ‘Crowncast’ is, this is the gist of it: Crowncast is a Twitch extension that can connect to your Hyper Scape account. Using it you will be able to gain progress on your Battle Pass, letting you vote for in-game events such as ‘Lethal Melee’ where a player can kill enemies in one hit using melee weapons, and even invite your Twitch viewers to join your squad instantly. With the release of Season One, Ubisoft is adding the ‘Kudos’ feature to the extension, a tool that allows you to react to the stream you watch by producing in-game visual effects; which you can buy with Twitch’s Bits.
‘The First Principle’ will include a total of 11 guns and 11 ‘hacks’ or skills. It also introduces a brand new weapon, the Dragonfly, as well as a new hack, Magnet, which you can use to trap unsuspecting targets along with new customization items both in the Battle Pass and in-game shop. Battle Pass premium will cost you 950 Bitcrowns, but while you can gain them by playing, again, watching Hyper Scape stream after connecting your account through Crowncast also lets you acquire them. In addition to Solo and Squad Crown Rush, additional limited-time game modes are also planned for Season One.
Don’t forget, Hyper Scape‘s Open Beta is available through August 2. Interested? Tell us what you think about the game and how good or bad the Twitch extension’s implementation is in the comments below.
