After mass confusion on the release details about The Halo 5 Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition details 343 have come to save the day by addressing details on the digital download code available with the game.
Considering the Halo 5 Guardians Standard Edition comes with a physical copy of the game as well as the Halo 5 Limited Edition also coming with a physical copy, why would the £200 bundle that offers the most for your money come with a steelcase and no physical copy of the game?
Well apparently this was originally due to the collectors edition shipping early, in an email made to Game Informer, Microsoft said:
“The Limited Collector’s Edition will be released on October 20th – a week prior to the official launch date of October 27th for Halo 5: Guardians – and therefore we are including a digital copy of the game so fans will have the benefit of pre-downloading to be ready to play on launch day,”
“We have heard feedback that some fans prefer a physical disc in the LCE, and we will provide an option for fans to exchange their digital copy for a physical disc at no additional cost. We’ll have details to share soon.”
So hopefully that puts some of the collectors minds out there to rest, I myself much prefer to own and hold a physical copy of something I spent so much money on, my last collector’s edition being The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt bundle.
Also included in the bundle is Limited Edition packaging, Commemorative statue of Master Chief and Spartan Locke, Metal Earth Guardian Model, Spartan Locke’s classified orders and dossier on Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris and some digital content including the Warzone Bundle and Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series.
What edition of Halo 5 will you be buying?
Has your interested peaked with Halo? Now following Bungie and their Destiny adventures?
Are you fussed about the lack of a physical disk?
I’d freak out and want my money back, but that’s just me.
Keep it nerdy people.
