Since teasing the next entry to Call of Duty, fans have been eagerly waiting for today. A promise of a reveal in Verdansk, Warzone’s massive map was promised, and the development team delivered. Following the sirens of a nuke reaching Verdansk, Infinity Ward finally dropped the trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The game will release on November 13th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with next-gen editions to come at a later date. You can find the reveal trailer, in all its chaotic glory, below.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War follows, as the title says, the Cold War period of history. It primarily follows the American side of things in 1981, with President Ronald Reagan calling the shots. We don’t see a whole lot for characters, but we do see two old friends. Those who played Black Ops 1 and 2 know I’m talking about Frank Woods and Jason Hudson, two classic characters of those games. It’s great to see them back in their full glory, especially with updated visuals. Outside of characters, it seems we’ll be looking into parts of the Vietnam War as well if the footage is anything to go off of. All of it seems very chaotic, but also very exciting.
For those who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you’re in luck. Players who pre-order a digital copy will get access to the open beta early, first on PS4 of course. Dates and times of the open betas are unknown right now, but we’ll let you know when we have more information. Along with access to the open beta, you get instant access to the Woods character for Modern Warfare and Warzone along with a weapon blueprint.
We’ll see you back here during the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal on September 9th. For now, we’d love to hear your thoughts on this news. Are you excited to see Woods and Hudson again? Will you be pre-ordering? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
