Harley Quinn has been renewed for season three, moving to HBO Max alongside a range of DC titles.

The DC Universe is officially moving from scripted content, with all scripted originals and library titles to be housed on the WarnerMedia-backed HBO Max service going forward.

Among the shows moving to HBO Max is animated series Harley Quinn, which has now been renewed for a third season. From showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, and starring Big Bang Theory-fame Kaley Cuoco, the third season will be available on the streaming service, along with the already streaming previous seasons.

The series, which gained popularity since the first two seasons arrived on HBO Max, has reportedly been renewed following a round of negotiations regarding budgets. Season three of Harley Quinn will join HBO Max alongside Doom Patrol, the previously announced third season of Titans, Young Justice, and Stargirl.

Alongside Harley Quinn, other DC titles including Titans, Doom Patrol, Stargirl, etc join the varied library on HBO Max.

The DCU has been home to a variety of titles since its launch with originals including Wonder Woman, the Batman animated series, Superfriends, Birds of Prey, Teen Titans (2003), Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Constantine, Batman Beyond, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Batman: The Animated Series, the Justice League animated series, and much more.

Of these, it’s still unclear which of the shows will be making a move from DCU to HBO Max, which already hosts several DC titles on the roster including Suicide Squad, Joker, Justice League, Shazam, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Birds of Prey: Harley Quinn.

Speaking of the shift in platforms, DC’s Jim Lee, said the following:

“Truthfully, that’s the best platform for that content. The amount of content you get, not just DC, but generally from WarnerMedia, is huge and it’s the best value proposition. We feel that is the place for that.”
