Should you not be aware, Amazon Prime’s Truth Seekers is the British answer to The X Files and promises to be to the paranormal what Shaun of the Dead was to zombies. Announced back in 2018, Truth Seekers will reunite Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in a supernatural comedy series that focuses on a team of paranormal investigators who film their investigations for their YouTube channel. Promising to mix the fun with the scary, I can’t wait to see Truth Seekers as I adored the pairs’ previous movies.
Should Truth Seekers have slipped under your radar, I have good news. Not only has a new trailer been revealed, but a release date has as well. Although, as with anything with a slight horror element, I guarantee you could guess, or at least come close to that date. Take a look at the trailer for yourselves:
So ghosts, horror, comedy, and conspiracy. What did I tell you, it’s British X-Files. Truth Seekers features Pegg and Frost writing the story, alongside Nat Saunders and, James Serafinowicz. Frost will play broadband installer / paranormal investigator Gus, while Pegg plays Dave, his boss, a character who may be hiding something.
From the trailer, it seems as if there will be a departure from the usual Pegg / Frost dynamic, and they could be on different sides of things here, something that will be quite strange. The show also features the acting talents of Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Emma D’Arcy, and Kate Nash, and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime from October 30th.
Let me know your thoughts on Truth Seekers in the comments. If you weren’t aware of it, you’re all up to speed with the trailer, and if you were, you didn’t need to read this, you’re already excited.
The truth is out there, for seeking. Or something like that.
