Chinese handset manufacturer, Huawei, has just unveiled a successor to their flagship G7 smartphone. As was previously rumoured, this next smartphone codenamed “G8” is reported to be equipped with fingerprint sensor.

The sensor is placed on the back cover, just below the camera. The introduction of fingerprint sensor is aimed towards enhancing the security of the device.

Huawei G8 has a 1080p 5.5 inch screen and it is powered by octa-core embedded 64 bit Snapdragon 615 SoC processor and Adreno 405 GPU.

Huawei released the G8 with two variants of RAM, 2 GB and 3 GB. For the 2GB variant, it has 16 GB of internal storage space. While the 3 GB RAM variant has an internal memory of 32 GB. If you need more memory space, the device has a MicroSD slot that supports up to 64 GB.

The G8 has a 13 MP rear camera with PureCel sensor and dual LED Flash. The size of the front of camera is 5 MP, and it is said to give an optimal selfie experience.

This Android lollipop (with Huawei Emoticon UI) smartphone is equipped with a battery capacity of 3000 mAh. Huawei also provides a 4G LTE connection for the G8.

As cited by Phone Arena, the Huawei G8 comes in three colours, namely black, white and gold. G8 is priced at $370, (RAM 2 GB) and $434 (3 GB RAM). So far there is no information on whether the G8 will see release outside of China.
