windows 10 notification upgrade

Windows 10 could be on its way to commercial success. On the first day of its release, Microsoftโ€™s brand-new OS is already installed by more than 14 million devices worldwide, according to Microsoft’s official blog.ย

The report is exactly as everyone expected, because Windows 10 is free for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. Therefore, any device (including both desktop and notebook PCs) that use both of those OS, are expected to receive an offer to upgrade their OS, through a notification from their taskbar.

This number is also expected to rise over time, considering that Windows 7 still dominates the operating system market share by 60.75%. Not to mention Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users who has 2.77% and 13.09% market share respectively.ย

Unfortunately, some consumers must wait before they get their hands on Windows 10, as Microsoft announced they will release the OS gradually in waves. After completing every requirement, users only need to wait until they receive a notification on their device when Windows 10 is ready to install.

Thankfully, Microsoft gave a considerably long free upgrade time limit until July 29th 2016. But after the free upgrade time limit has passed, consumers must pay the full price for Windows 10 if theyโ€™re interested in getting their hands on Microsoftโ€™s latest OS.
