As we get closer to the holiday season, we have the task of revealing to you December’s monthly free games. Sony is yet to reveal December’s PlayStation Plus games, but Microsoft has unveiled their lineup for Games With Gold for December.

An important note to consider is that despite being the first month past the launch of the Xbox Series X and Series S, there aren’t any titles that are explicitly Series X/S focused, although it is worthy of note that Xbox One games natively are supported on Series X/S and many of the Xbox 360 games are also backward compatible on the newer consoles.

Perhaps the most recognizable game on this month’s lineup is Saint’s Row IV: Gat out of Hell, a standalone DLC for the pretty crazy Saints Row IV. In it, fan-favorite character Johnny Gat and tech-wiz Kinzie Kensington are taken to Hell to rescue Satan’s daughter Jezebel, as well as the Boss of the Third Street Saints (that’s the player character in previous games in case you weren’t already familiar). It’s a wild ride, as you gain the ability to fly early on, which comes with its own selection of flight-related collectibles.

From the creators of the Book of Unwritten Tales series, comes The Raven Remastered, an episodic point-and-click mystery game where you have to figure out the mystery behind the theft of an ancient ruby, with a raven’s feather as a calling card. Also available are action-shooter Bleed 2, and Stacking, a game where you play as a Russian Doll who can hop inside other Russian dolls to solve a variety of puzzles.

The timing for these games being free is a little confusing. Firstly, both Gat out of Hell and The Raven Remastered will be available to collect on December 1, but while Gat out of Hell lasts until December 15, The Raven Remastered stretches for the entire month. Meanwhile, Bleed 2 starts from December 16 and goes until January 15 while Stacking only goes from December 16 to December 31. Yeah, I’m a little confused too.

November’s Xbox Games With Gold are still around, but time is of the essence if you want to add them to your collection. Both Aragami: Shadow Edition and LEGO Indiana Jones are available until November 30, while Swimsanity will leave after December 16.

Will you be claiming these Xbox Games with Gold titles? Anything you’re excited to play first? Let me know in the comments below!
