Upcoming horror title Martha is Dead release was previously confirmed to be coming to both PC and Xbox Series X. Now, developer LKA recently confirmed at the Golden Joystick Awards 2020 that the game would come to the PlayStation 5.
There is a lot of expectation hanging on Martha is Dead to deliver. It’s being developed by LKA, the award-winning studio behind titles such as The Town of Light. The story will take us back to Italy in 1944. When Martha is found dead on the shores of a lake, and her sister must deal with the fall out of her murder — but war draws ever closer.
Built using Unreal Engine 4, the horror game will undoubtedly be harrowing and scare players. It will also combine real-world locations with links to historical events, folklore and create deep psychological distress.
The announcement of the game arriving on PlayStation was accompanied by a chilling new trailer:
The managing director at Wired Productions, Leo Zullo, was delighted about the latest news: “Now players have next-generation consoles in their hands, it’s exciting to watch Martha is Dead take shape on both PlayStation and the Xbox family of devices,” he said.
“The game builds upon developer LKA’s signature style of deep, multi-layered narratives and was always intended to be a multi-platform release that raises expectations of what can be achieved by an indie studio on next-generation hardware and PC.”

“Martha is Dead represents a step forward for LKA,” said Luca Dalco, Founder & Director, LKA. “This is a game that merges the raw power of PC and next-generation consoles, and all we’ve learned from developing The Town of Light. Martha is Dead is an evolution in psychological storytelling, and we’re driven to build a compelling, gripping world Full of twists and turns for players to explore in 2021.”
It is pleasing to see a game as hyped as Martha is Dead also arrive on more consoles. A game like this deserves as many players as it can get.
