Since Wonder Woman 1984 will be coming straight to HBO Max as well as theatres on Christmas Day, we will be getting it in the best available streaming quality.
The DCEU movie will become the first-ever title on HBO Max available in 4K Ultra HD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. Essentially, if that sounds too technical for you, it’s going to be movie theater quality! As this rollout will be of such a high quality, you will require the devices capable of producing it. Currently, supported devices include Apple TV 4K, Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, Amazon Fire TV Cube and 4K Fire TV Edition smart TVs, Chromecast Ultra, AT&T TV, and supported Android TV devices. If you have any of those and your TV is capable, you’re ready to go!
Director Patty Jenkins announced the news herself on Twitter.

IN THEATERS on Dec. 25th and exclusively streaming in the US on @hbomax. PLEASE find the biggest and highest quality screen you can!!”[/quote]

This will be the first movie available to stream in 4K on HBO Max, but it certainly won’t be the last. They plan to include support for even more movies and TV shows throughout 2021. Also, they will add more supported devices in the coming months.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the release date of Wonder Woman 1984 has been changed numerous times. It was originally intended for 2019 but was then delayed to June 5, 2020. After that, it was pushed to August and then October. Now the movie will drop December 25 exclusively on HBO Max for subscribers at no additional cost. Thankfully, it shouldn’t have to move again.
