It seems ever apparent that the cyberpunk genre is here to stay, with plenty of great titles flying into our hearts. You have the great first-person hack and slash title Ghostrunner for example, or the incredibly rich world of Cyberpunk 2077 (outside of the endless list of performance issues). It’s a genuinely exciting time to be a cyberpunk fan, and the indie gaming scene has just the fix for you. The latest in a line of great titles, Disjunction, releases on January 28 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. If you’d like to see what it’s all about, check out the fresh trailer below.
What is Disjunction?
Disjunction is a cyberpunk action RPG set in the New York of 2048, following three different characters on their adventures to end a massive conspiracy. The said conspiracy could bring the end to New York as we know it. Throughout your adventures as these three heroes, you can pick from a wide arsenal that suits your playstyle. If you’re more the type to get your hands dirty so to speak, you definitely can do that. If you’re more of the type to stick in the shadows and kill only when something gets in your way, you can do that too. How you stop the conspiracy is entirely up to you, making no two playthroughs the same.
If you’re intrigued by Disjunction’s cyberpunk ambitions, welcome to the club. For those who need a little more to be enticed though, here’s Erwan LeCun, co-founder of Ape Tribe Games to speak on his ambitions for the title:
We are massive fans of classic stealth-action games and ultramodern fast-paced shooters, and have put our all into combining the two genres in Disjunction. Disjunction is our love letter to cyberpunk, and we hope that the game’s conspiracy-laden narrative and stylistic visuals will appeal to fans of the genre, while giving them the choice to engage in strategic stealth gameplay or brutally fast combat.”
