Star Wars fans rejoice! A week ago, Epic Games revealed plans to release Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition for free on their store. Now, gamers have exactly one week to claim the title for absolutely free, although there are a few details to consider before diving in.
There’s never been a better time to battle in the galaxy far, far away. With Epic Games’ offer, you won’t just get the vanilla game, either. The “Celebration Edition” includes all of the customizable content released since December 20, 2019. Just some of the additional content includes more than 100 Hero and Trooper Emotes and Voice Lines, more than 70 Hero and Trooper Victory Poses, over 25 Hero appearances, including 6 Legendary Appearances, plus 1 appearance each for Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren inspired by The Rise of Skywalker, and more cool additions!

Before you get too excited, there are two main caveats to consider. Firstly, the game will only be available for free for one week before it reverts to its usual price. Secondly, console gamers are left out of the deal. It’s only available for PC gamers.
If, by chance Star Wars isn’t your thing, you need not worry. Once this deal ends, the Epic Games Store will make Galactic Civilizations IIII — the 2015 turn-based strategy game from Stardock — free for one week, ending January 28th.
Strangely, this news comes just one day after Lucasfilm and Ubisoft teamed up to create their own Star Wars game. Currently untitled, their game set within the Star Wars universe is said to be a big-budget, open-world experience. It is currently unknown when the game will release, but surely Battlefront 2 is the perfect substitute in the meantime? And it’s absolutely free!
