Fortnite is one of the biggest battle royale games on the market right now. Its fast-paced action combined with its impressive builds creates an addictive challenge that you can’t resist. That isn’t to say that Fortnite is not difficult. Experienced and new players will tell anyone just how difficult it is especially without any visual aids. But, there is a way to see footsteps in Fortnite.

However, there’s a way for all players to see the footsteps of their enemies on the mini-map. Players no longer need to rely on their audio cues, but instead can have both a visual representation of their enemies as well as their noise.

How to See Footsteps in Fortnite

To see footsteps in Fortnite, players are going to need to do a few specific things. First, head to the lobby screen and navigate towards Settings. Once in the settings menu, find the audio settings (the speaker icon). In the audio settings, look for the setting called “Visualize Sound Effects.”

Turning this on will enable you to see footsteps as little blips on the mini-map. It goes without saying, but this is a huge advantage. You can always miss audio cues of footsteps, but if you keep your eye on the mini-map, you won’t miss the undeniable evidence of an enemy close by. Plus, you will be able to use your new knowledge in estimating which direction an attack will come.

However, be aware that turning this setting on will enable all audio cues to be visual cues. That is, that chests and other items that have their own sounds will form a golden arc around you. It will get bigger or smaller depending on the distance between, and it can be distracting if you’re in the middle of a battle.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you, but it is a unique opportunity to get an advantage in the game. Let us know in the comments below how you like this feature!
