Her Early Years
The oldest of 3 children; she was born in London on August 17, 1968 to Ann and Iain McCrory. She attended Queenswood School near Hatfield, Hertfordshire and when she was done with that part of her schooling she spent a year in Italy. After Italy, she would start her acting career by going to the Drama Centre in London.
Sad Blinders
Her first big break came in 1993 when she got a role in an episode of a British comedy by the name of Full Stretch and did different tv-series, made-for-tv movies, and stage plays until she got a role in The Count of Monte Cristo (2002). Not until after her role as Cherie Blair in The Queen did she really start to gain notoriety in the states. That lead to her playing Narcissa Malfoy in 3 films from the Harry Potter franchise; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II. Eventually leading her to do Penny Dreadful and Peaky Blinders.
She met Damian as they were performing in Five Gold Rings at London’s Almeida Theatre in 2003, they would go on to marry on July 4, 2007.
As of recently, Helen McCrory and Damian Lewis were adamant supporters of Feed NHS during the pandemic. The initiative would deliver about 5,600 meals a day to critical medical care staff through the hospitals in London.
