At the Games 15 event in Dubai, lead Street Fighter V producer Yoshinori Ono introduced the second all-new character that will join the roster: Rashid.

Rashid hails from the Middle East; according to the Capcom Unity blog post about the character, Rashid is a “fun, easy going individual who has an affinity for technology.” He also uses wind and tornado-based attacks and has elements of parkour in his fighting style. He looks to be an extremely quick character that specializes in mix-ups and keeping an opponent off balance. His superpowered attacks come from the technology that he carries with him, similar to C. Viper from the Street Fighter IV series. His fighting style will surely draw some comparisons to El Fuerte and Juri, with the rapid flips, high speed attacks, and free-flow kicks. Check out his reveal trailer below to get a sense of Rashid’s style:

Both of Rashid’s V-skills are on display in the trailer. The first has him perform a flip over the opponent’s head, with the press of a button unleashing a divekick. This should lead to some good mix-up opportunities. His other V-skill has Rashid close space quickly with a forward roll. This can help him get close to an opponent, switch sides with the opponent, and an extra button press will again end the movement with an attack. His V-trigger leaves a slow moving tornado on the screen, creating some fuzzy blocking decisions for your opponent to make. Finally, Rashid’s critical art creates a whirlwind around the character, catching the opponent and rising into the air with them. It deals a series of hits before Rashid finishes it with a front kick.

Rashid is the eleventh fighter of sixteen that will be available at Street Fighter V‘s launch, and the second all-new character after Necalli. According to previous announcements, these final spots will be occupied by two brand new characters and three returners to the roster. Excited to take Rashid for a spin? Who else do you want to see announced. Let us know!
