Sony has announced today that the company is adding three new games to the PlayStation Now August 2021 line-up starting from August 3, with two of them are gaming fans’ favorite RPGs: NieR: Automata and Undertale. The first RPG title, NieR: Automata, tells the story of two androids named 2B and 9s fighting against otherworldly machine lifeforms in an overrun dystopia. It gained accolades from fans and critics alike thanks to director Yoko Taro’s unique storytelling, Keiichi Okabe’s ethereal composition, and PlatinumGames’ (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising) involvement in the combat department. However, NieR: Automata will only be available until Monday, November 1, 2021. If you haven’t played the game yet, better run through all the five endings (or 26 if you really want to see the joke endings as well) once it’s available before it left later this year.

Undertale itself is an indie darling first released in September 2015 and instantly became a viral hit thanks to its unique gameplay routes. Here’s the game synopsis from Sony:

In this top-down adventure, control a human who falls underground into the world of monsters. Now you must find your way out… or stay trapped forever! Explore a rich RPG world full of strange and delightful characters where violence isn’t the only answer: every enemy can be defeated nonviolently. Negotiate out of danger using a unique battle system. Dance with a slime…pet a dog…whisper your favorite secret to a knight…or ignore all of that and rain destruction upon your foes. The choices are yours—but are you determined enough to prevail?

NieR: Automata and Undertale are joined by Ghostrunner, a cyberpunk-themed action runner game. Perform cybernetic-enhanced parkour feats and slash your way up a megastructure tower city. You have to utilize your monomolecular katana, superhuman reflexes to dodge bullets, and use various techniques to prevail against the one-hit-kill mechanics. Nevertheless, Ghostrunner provides an ample amount of checkpoints to make the experience less annoying and much more exciting.

Two fast-paced sci-fi games and two hit RPGs. Quite a decent selection, don’t you think? Let us know what you think of the addition of NieR, Undertale, and Ghostrunner to the PlayStation Now August line-up in the comments below.
