The Pokemon: Secrets of the Jungle trailer stars Ash Ketchum and Pikachu exploring a large and unexplored jungle. While there, the duo meets Koko. They learn that Koko was abandoned in the Jungle and raised by the Pokemon there. They also encounter a wild, talking Zarude, who Koko calls “Dada.” From there, Ash, Koko, and the Pokemon of the forest must protect the land from an incoming research company trying to take the jungle’s important resources (including a magical healing spring).
The release of the Secrets of the Jungle trailer marks the Pokemon franchise’s twenty-third- movie. While the company is also celebrating its 25th anniversary, the next season of the Pokemon anime will also be on Netflix this fall.
At the same time, The Pokemon Company will also debut a new series titled Pokemon Evolutions. This series will feature characters from all eight generations of video games in different stories.
A Pokemon Celebration After Secrets of the Jungle
To celebrate the movie’s release, players of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will be able to catch their own Zaruade by signing up for the Pokemon Trainers Club e-mail newsletter. A shiny Celebi will also be distributed to players. Pokemon Go will release their own tie-in movie promotion at a later date.
More Pokemon video games continue to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise. Along with Pokemon Snap and the online MOBA Pokemon Unite, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company will also release remakes of a fan favorite DS game.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokemon: Legends of Arceus are also seeing releases in the near future. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release this November. Those two games will follow up the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus and the release of a supersized Piplup doll. Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release on Nintendo Switch in January.
Pokemon: Secrets of the Jungle will release on Netflix on October 8th.
