All right, who’s ready to head on down to South Park and have ourselves a time? That’s right, eight months after the Season 24 ending aired we have ourselves some new content for the controversial series. Earlier today a trailer was dropped for their first of two film-style specials to be streamed exclusively on the Paramount+ platform this year. Known as the South Park: Post-COVID special, it picks up some time after the climactic finish of the vaccination special in March 2021. The trailer below gives us a quick look at the tongue-in-cheek comedy we can expect this time.

SOUTH PARK: POST COVID | First Look | Streaming Nov. 25 only on Paramount+

Where Are the Boys Headed Next?

As can be seen in the trailer, the South Park: Post-COVID special is taking some drastic comedic shifts. First and most obvious of all, the boys are now fully grown adults! This is most likely an extremely satirical jab at how people say it feels like it’s been years since COVID started. For those that aren’t quite sure what’s going on, you might want to catch up on HBO Max. The most recent special, focusing on vaccination and the prospect of a post-COVID world, tore the gang apart. They promised to at least be there when things go bad. And with such a long time since the last normal season of South Park itself, it starts to make sense. Not much else can be gleaned, besides the fact that Randy’s marijuana business is still booming. Don’t worry though, a new (normal) season will be coming soon.

South Park Season 25

Is Paramount+ The New Home of South Park?

With two specials set for exclusive Paramount+ release, some fans are wondering if that’s where they’ll stay. The good news is, not entirely. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a deal for 14 exclusive specials with Paramount+. However, all continuing seasons will still air normally on cable. This includes Season 25, expected to release in 2022. As usual, the episodes will release on Comedy Central. A day later, they’ll be ready for streaming on HBO Max. That said, these specials have some narrative importance to the show. Sorry folks, but the streaming wars continue in earnest.

The South Park: Post-COVID special will air on November 25. Are you planning on watching it? Let us know below!
