The official full-length trailer for Ratchet & Clank has been released!
The movie based off of the popular PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 franchise implements the same animation used for in-game cutscenes, as well as the original voice, cast the characters are known for. Ratchet & Clank series creators Insomniac games has been closely involved in the development of the film, having co-written the screenplay in addition to aiding with the film’s general production. The games studios have worked intimately with Rainmaker Entertainment, the film studio behind the project to make sure the animation is just right and the characters are the characters are the same from the video games.
Ratchet & Clank is a prequel to the game series, chronicling the first meeting of Ratchet and his sidekick/friend Clank, as well as the initial relationship between Ratchet and his idol Quark. The computer-generated comedy boasts a star-studded cast including; Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Bella Thorne, Rosario Dawson and Sylvester Stallone to name a few.
Ratchet & Clank is set to be released theatrically April 2016, alongside the PlayStation 4 game of the same title. The PS4 title is a re-imagining of the original PS1 classic of the same name. Both the movie and game will cover the origins of the franchise.
