Hideo Kojima, the famous game director of the Death Stranding and Metal Gear series, shared a notion of his 2022 plans and next project. This innovative game director mentions video and radio projects alongside “a radical project.” It is yet to be known what his radical project would be, but some years ago he did mention he would make something far better and innovative than his latest video game, Death Stranding. Kojima’s passion for cinema is common knowledge, so his radical project might even be a feature film.
At the beginning of 2021, Hideo Kojima announced that Kojima Productions has established a TV and film studio based in Los Angles and its work will begin very soon. This great cinephile mentioned he’s “going to start a new work in earnest”, which could be his first feature film.

Hideo Kojima is famously known for his long and well-directed cinematic sequences in video games. For the ending of his latest work, Death Stranding, the ending scene was almost two hours long, just like a feature film. Not only in Death Stranding, but most Metal Gear games also had longer cinematic sequences compared to other video games.
Kojima also mentioned a radio project, which would be the first time he would do something without video. But the part that made everyone excited was “a radical project” which could be anything. It can be the sequel of Death Stranding since a while ago Norman Reedus mentioned his return to Kojima Productions for a project. It can be a feature film since they established a film studio in LA, or something entirely new.
Hideo Kojima’s next project could be an entirely new game he hasn’t mentioned yet. Even though Kojima has a great relationship with Sony, this time Microsoft is close to agreeing on a deal to publish Kojima’s new game.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
