11. Sindri’s Royal Dwarven Set
- Complete “Hail to the King” Dwarven Favor side quest.
- Sindri’s Royal Dwarven Breastplate: 1x Ultimate Sacrifice and 20,500 Hacksilver.
- Sindri’s Royal Dwarven Gauntlets: 1x Screams of the Innocent and 15,400 Hacksilver.
- Sindri’s Royal Dwarven Waist Guard: 1x Dragon’s Fury and 15,400 Hacksilver.
Although this particular Legendary armor set can only be upgraded to level 7, thanks to its huge Runic and Cooldown bonus as well as the Arcane Protective Barrier skill that can block incoming damages while using Runic Attacks, this set is perfect if you often use Runic abilities.
10. Brok’s Royal Dwarven Set
- Complete “Hail to the King” Dwarven Favor side quest.
- Brok’s Royal Dwarven Breastplate: 1x Ultimate Sacrifice and 20,500 Hacksilver.
- Brok’s Royal Dwarven Gauntlets: 1x Screams of the Innocent and 15,400 Hacksilver.
- Brok’s Royal Dwarven Waist Guard: 1x Dragon’s Fury and 15,400 Hacksilver.
If Sindri’s armor is designed for players who rely on Runic abilities, then Brok’s armor is for those who often use Spartan Rage since each piece boosts the Rage Meter fill by 10%.
9. Blazing Magma Armor Set
- Find the Muspelheim Ciphers to access the Realm of Muspelheim. Read all about it on our Muspelheim Language Ciphers guide.
- Complete the Muspelheim Trials.
- Blazing Magma Pauldrons: 24x Smoldering Ember and 16,400 Hacksilver.
- Blazing Magma Wrappings: 18x Smoldering Ember and 12,800 Hacksilver.
- Blazing Magma War Belt: 18x Smoldering Ember and 12,800 Hacksilver.
This set gives you the Magma Shield skill that creates a flame shield that will burn enemies and prevents interruptions — definitely a great option if you like to play aggressively. However, The Blazing Magma Armor set requires late-game resources to be upgraded, such as Pristine Ore of the Realm in Legendary Chests at the Iron Cove, Aesirbane in Niflheim, as well as Smoldering Embers, Crests of Flame, and Crest of Surtr that can only be found in Muspelheim.
8. Smoldering Brimstone Armor Set
- Find the Muspelheim Ciphers to access the Realm of Muspelheim.
- Complete the Muspelheim Trials.
- Smoldering Brimstone Pauldrons: 24x Smoldering Ember and 16,400 Hacksilver.
- Smoldering Brimstone Gauntlets: 18x Smoldering Ember and 12,800 Hacksilver.
- Smoldering Brimstone Battle Belt: 18x Smoldering Ember and 12,800 Hacksilver.
The second Muspelheim armor that you should keep an eye on. The best thing about this set is the Aura of Fire skill that increases strength and restores health after taking damage. Just like the previous armor set, you’ll need to farm late-game items to upgrade it to its full potential.
7. Fallen Ash Set
- Complete the “Flight of Fafnir” Quest.
- Breastplate of Fallen Ash: 24x Smoldering Ember and 16,400 Hacksilver.
- Gauntlets of Fallen Ash: 18x Smoldering Ember and 12,800 Hacksilver.
- War Belt of Fallen Ash: 18x Smoldering Ember and 12,800 Hacksilver.
The Fallen Ash set is one of the best-looking armor in the game. Thankfully, this armor can also help the god of war in tougher fights, considering its good stats and the Retaliation of Fire skill that will deal with concussive burn damage to any enemy attacking Kratos.
6. Valkyrie Set
- Cuirass of the Valkyrie: Defeat Hildr in Niflheim.
- Gauntlets of the Valkyrie: Defeat Gondul in Muspelheim.
- Waist Guard of the Valkyrie: Defeat Olrun in Alfheim.
Another eye-catching armor that’s also extremely powerful. Sometimes fashion and practicality do go hand in hand. It gives a huge boost to all stats except Vitality, has Enchantment Sockets at level 8, and is powered by the Refreshing Light skill that can refresh all Runic Attack cooldowns following a Runic Attack kill. Although you only need to defeat three Valkyries to craft it, you will have to defeat all nine of them to fully upgrade it. Follow our All Valkyrie Locations guide to help you find and beat those fierce lady warriors.
5. Ivaldi’s Cursed Mist Set
- Visit Niflheim and obtain Ivaldi’s Rusted Armor from the workshop.
- Ivaldi’s Spaulders of Cursed Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,500 Mist Echoes, and 20,500 Hacksilver.
- Ivaldi’s Bracers of Cursed Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.
- Ivaldi’s War Belt of Cursed Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.
One of three armor that you can get from Niflheim’s maze. It does have a constant health regeneration but no Vitality bonus making it a hard pick for tougher enemies.
4. Ivaldi’s Endless Mist Set
- Visit Niflheim and obtain Ivaldi’s Rusted Armor from the workshop.
- Ivaldi’s Cuirass of Endless Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,500 Mist Echoes, and 20,500 Hacksilver.
- Ivaldi’s Gauntlets of Endless Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.
- Ivaldi’s War Belt of Endless Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.
Like Cursed Mist, Endless Mist is actually a pretty tough armor to have, and it still has a health regen bonus. However, the lack of any Runic ability bonuses definitely makes it a less than ideal option for bosses.
3. Ivaldi’s Deadly Mist Set
- Visit Niflheim and obtain Ivaldi’s Rusted Armor from the workshop.
- Ivaldi’s Pauldrons of Deadly Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,500 Mist Echoes, and 20,500 Hacksilver.
- Ivaldi’s Gauntlets of Deadly Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.
- Ivaldi’s War Belt of Deadly Mist: 5x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.
The best set out of the three Ivaldi’s armor since it has health regen and well-rounded stats bonuses. Most players also agreed that this is the one, and you can have it before getting into the New Game Plus of GOW 2018.
2. Armor of Ares Set
- Get into New Game Plus.
- Defeat Hræzlyr.
- Cuirass of Ares: 24x Skap Slag and 75,500 Hacksilver.
- Gauntlets of Ares: 20x Skap Slag & 56,600 Hacksilver.
- War Belt of Ares: 20x Skap Slag & 56,600 Hacksilver.
Once you’ve completed GOW 2018 for the first time, now it’s the moment to aim for the overpowered armor sets and become the true God of War once again. This Greek-styled gear obviously provides whopping stat upgrades all across the board but also gives Rage Field skill that increases the Rage Meter fill and decreases drain rate.
1. Armor of Zeus Set
- Get into New Game Plus.
- Cuirass of Zeus: Defeat Sigrun in Midgard.
- Gauntlets of Zeus: Defeat Gondul in Muspelheim.
- War Belt of Zeus: Defeat Hildr in Niflheim.
Pretty much the best armor set in God of War 2018 on paper, although the Glass Ballista skill increases the damage Kratos will receive from enemies. With that in mind, you will need to play a bit more carefully and/or mix-and-match it with other armor pieces.
