This year’s BAFTA nominations are being led by Netflix’s 22 nods this year, according to Deadline. Last year this time, Netflix garnered a whopping 34 nominations.

The Power Of The Dog leads with 8 total nominations, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Supporting Actor nominations for Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Netflix’s Don’t Look Up got them only 4 BAFTA nominations, including Original Screenplay, Leading Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, and Best Original Score. Along with RebeccaHall’ss directorial debut with Passing that earned the big bad streamer daddy another 4 BAFTA nominations.

Maggie Gyllenhaal received nominations for her directorial debut as well with The Lost Daughter for Adapted Screenplay and Supporting Actress for Jessie Buckley.

And rounding out the Netflix BAFTA nominations is The Hand of God, directed by Paolo Sorrentino, and The Harder They Fall, directed by The Bullitts, each got two more BAFTA nominations for Netflix.

Apple finally got some recognition for a major category for CODA, a story about a girl who is the only one that can hear amongst her deaf family. CODA was nominated for Adapted Screenplay and a nomination for Emilia Jones for Leading Actress, Troy Kotsur for Supporting Actor, and Bruno Delbonnel earning a Cinematography nomination for The Tragedy Of Macbeth.

Last year Apple received nominations for Wolfwalkers, their animated film, and Greyhound, which got Apple nominations for special visual effects and sound.

On the other hand, Amazon got only three BAFTA nominations in total, including one for Aaron Sorkin for Original Screenplay and one for DanielPemberton’ss Original Score for Being The Ricardos and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie got Amazon a nomination for Outstanding British Film.

Are you impressed with Netflix getting 22 BAFTA nominations? Who do you think will be the steamer that overtakes the content colossus?
