The new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore has finally been released after having been delayed from a planned release last Thursday. The trailer opens with a scene of Sir Michael Gambon’s Albus Dumbledore looking into a Pensieve and narrating with the words, “Memory is everything. Without it, we are blind. Without it, we leave the fate of our world to chance.” We then flashback to a younger Dumbledore played by Jude Law, who is warned of the growing threat of his former companion Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen), who we then see telling his followers, “Our war with the muggles begins today!”
Polygon reports that this trailer offers our closest look at Grindelwald, who from the very first Fantastic Beasts film has been fighting to control the wizarding world and rage war against the muggles (or no-majes as they’re called in America). This will be the first film Grindelwald will not be played by Johnny Depp, who exited the franchise in the midst of abuse allegations from ex-wife Amber Heard. The film will feature returning stars Eddie Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Callum Turner, Ezra Miller, and Alison Sudol as Newt Scamander, Jacob Kowalski, Theseus Scamander, Creedence Barebone, and Queenie Goldstein, respectively.
Along with the trailer, a new poster was released for The Secrets of Dumbledore. The poster can be viewed below via this tweet from the official Fantastic Beasts Twitter account.

While Katherine Waterston is also returning as Tina Goldstein (sister to Queenie and love-interest to Newt), Digital Spy reports that fans have been concerned by the character’s absence in both trailers for The Secrets of Dumbledore. Eighteen character posters were released last week to promote the film, but Tina was not featured in any of them. Regardless, the character will be in the film with Waterston playing her.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released in theaters on April 15.
