With the 30th anniversary of the Kirby franchise imminent, Nintendo has shared that a live concert celebrating the franchise is on its way along with other projects in celebration of the pink puffball, the latest of which is the highly anticipated Kirby and the Forgotten Land for Nintendo Switch. The Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest is set to premiere on August 11, 2022, and will stream via the official Kirby YoutTube channel completely for free.
“To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Kirby, a one-time-only music festival will be held featuring a large big band-style ensemble of 35 musicians performing in a variety of genres! This event is a musical event in which you can enjoy original medleys of songs from past titles in the series while reminiscing on your memories with them. A large LED monitor at the venue will also feature a moving Kirby! We look forward to having an exciting festival together with everyone. We hope to meet you all at the online venue!”, a post from the official website reads.
The event will air at 2 a.m. PT / 5 a.m. ET at the Tokyo Garden Theater will feature a big band orchestra of 35 musicians who will be playing different music from the Kirby series. Although the event will be airing live in Japan, the stream be at the same time.
The concert was announced with the coming release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the newest entry in the Kirby series set to release on March 25, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch. It also recently released a demo.
Nintendo has confirmed that they are also working on a variety of other projects to celebrate Kirby’s 30th anniversary, in addition to this concern and the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. More details on those projects and what they will focus on are expected to be revealed in due time.
