After seven seasons,ย DC’s Legends of Tomorrowย has been canceled on the CW after seven seasons. This news comes on the same day the network announced it would cancel Batwoman after three seasons.ย Deadlineย reports that while the CW usually ends its shows with some level of closure, the seventh and now the final season of Legendsย ended on a cliffhanger. However, sources have suggested the strong possibility that the show’s characters could appear in one or two of the remainingย Arrowverse shows, allowing the cliffhanger to be addressed. Interestingly,ย Batwoman is also ending on a cliffhanger. Time will tell if these cliffhangers will be resolved.
DCs Legends of Tomorrow, the Latest Arrowverse Loss
DCs Legends of Tomorrowย andย Batwomanย aren’t the only recent losses from the Arrowverse. It’s only been two years sinceย Arrow, the show that started it all, came to an end. 2021 marked the end of Black Lightningย after four seasons andย Supergirlย after six. The CW’s only remaining shows areย The Flashย andย Superman & Lois, both of which have been renewed for a ninth and third season, respectively. While Superman & Lois is still thriving with fans and critics, some fans believe it’s time to letย The Flash wrap up. There are speculations that the ninth season may be the last, but the CW has made no announcement.
The Future of The CW Without Legends
While the CW has given upย Legendsย after seven seasons, it has at least three new pilots ordered this year, including a newย Arrowverseย series,ย Gotham Knights.ย That show is set to be a spin-off of Batwoman. Hopefully, it will have a longer life than its predecessor.
