There is no denying that the world of Elden Ring is huge and immersive. There are tons of locations with tough bosses and great loot that yearn for your discovery. One of those locations is Deeproot Depths, with some tough boss fights and great loots. Here is the walkthrough of Deeproot Depths in Elden Ring.
Deeproot Depths Walkthrough in Elden Ring
There are five secret underground portions, and Deeproot Depths is one of them. There are different routes to access the place. This location is tied to Fia’s personal sidequest. There is the possibility of accessing it without going through the questline of Fia, but doing it would be much better.
To access the Deeproot Depths, there is the main path and an alternative path. The main path can be accessed by finding the Siofra Aqueducts that can be accessed through the Ancestral Woods in the Siofra River. From the Ancestral Woods, find the large group of Ancestral Followers.
Pass them and then drop down a ledge to enter a cave. You will find the Aqueduct-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace. At the end of the Siofra Aquaducts, you will face two Valiant Gargoyles. Defeating them will free the path to the end of the waterfall basin. At the very end, you can find a lonely coffin; interacting with it will teleport you to the Deeproot Depths.
The alternative path can be accessed through a hidden wall in the underground of Leyndall, Royal Capital. But first, you need to defeat Mohg, the Omen. From the boss room’s Site of Grace, head northeast through the dungeon. You will come across a deep chasm with three planks down the way. Drop down each plank and then drop onto the stone slabs sticking out of the walls.
On the last slab, you’ll be able to walk into a window. Head to the left and then jump down. Go to the south until you find a treasure chest. The wall behind that chest is fake and leads to the Deeproot Depths.
The Ant Colony – Deeproot Depths Walkthrough
From the Great Waterfall Crest Site of Grace, head to the right of where Ulcerated Tree Spirit spawns. Walk across the tree roots, drop down, and then continue across. This will take you to the ant colony, where you will face some large ants. Behind them, to the west, is the next Site of Grace, where you will find a Finger Reader.
In this location, you can find Ashes of War and an Incantation. You can get the Ashes of War by killing a Teardrop Scarab. To acquire the Incantation, you must enter a secret ant cave. You can notice it if you see the east wall, but you can’t access it through there.
Go back to the beginning of the roots. Before reaching the ants, there is a gap in the set of roots to your right. Going down the Torrent, you will notice you have reached the cave. But be careful because there is no Site of Grace there.
How to Get to the End of Deeproot Depths
Heading from the Deeproot Depths to the west, you will reach The Nameless Eternal City Site of Grace. From there, walk up the roots until you reach the boss gate. Facing east, jump on top of the broken house to your right. From there, access the roots and head up. Turn right and keep going up.
Be careful of the Gargoyles that throwes fire at you. After the second gargoyle, continue your way going forward up the roots. Pass the third gargoyle and then take a sharp left. From there, jump onto the roots to go higher. There is also a fourth gargoyle you need to pass and then drop down to the next Site of Grace, Across The Roots. The boss room is right next to it.
Bosses and Their Locations
There are four bosses you can fight in Deeproot Depths. The first one is Erdtree Avatar. It is located in front of a large tree after accessing the Great Waterfall Crest Site of Grace.
There is the Crucible Knight Sirulia that you can find on the West of the nameless Eternal City Site of Grace. Fia’s Champions is another loss at which you can find the end of Deeproot Depths.
Then there is the Lichdragon Fortissax located in the Prince of Deaths’ Throne arena, which can be accessed if you defeated Fia’s Champions and then talked to her again.
Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
