Anyone who’s played Cuphead knows it’s equally incredible and frustrating. So, it’s no wonder players would love to share some of that burden with a friend, perhaps one who doesn’t live nearby. With the new DLC adding even more challenging bosses and a new playable character, this is truer now more than ever. It begs the question of whether Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course has online co-op gameplay.

Online Co-op Gameplay in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

Cuphead The Delicious Last Course Online Co-op Gameplay

Let’s get this out of the way now before you get your hopes up: there is no online general co-op gameplay in The Delicious Last Course. In fact, there’s no online co-op in Cuphead at all, let alone in the DLC.

Some players are okay with it, and others aren’t. But if you’re familiar with the Cuphead game, you may have suspected a lack of online co-op with The Delicious Last Course.

The only way you can possibly do some online co-op is with Steam Remote Play. Of course, this is just available for PC players through Steam. At the end of the day, the game itself doesn’t intend to have online co-op.

What it does support is local co-op. So, if you still want a friend to join in on the action, you can invite them over. We’ll show you how to tackle both the Steam Remote Play and the local co-op feature.

Steam Remote Play in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

For PC players, you can take advantage of the Steam Remote Play for online co-op in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course. This feature lets you invite your friends to your local co-op game. It’s completely free. Just launch your game, invite a friend from your list, and start playing as if they’re right next to you.

Local Co-op in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

For console players (and PC players who don’t want to use Remote Play), the only way you can get through those tough bosses with a partner is with local co-op.

It’s easy and quick to set up. Simply turn on another controller that’s synced with your system. The second player will take over the other character. From there, you can rope in a friend who may or may not smash a controller in response to the game.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
