The HBO Princess Diana documentary The Princess from director Ed Perkins (Black Sheep) has a trailer, giving a look at her life and how the doc will examine it. It will be available on the cabler and its service HBO Max on August 13.
The trailer of the HBO Princess Diana documentary comes shortly after it announced the August release date at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker, the film will premiere before the 25th anniversary of her death on August 31.
Giving audiences a perspective of Princess Diana in the documentary will deliver another outlook to contrast with the tabloids she was constantly in during her life. While tabloids focused on her relationship with Charles, the film will use archived audio and footage to show people significant events of her life, from her divorce from Charles, the birth of her children, and her death at 36. It will highlight the contradictory views people had as they simultaneously adored and scrutinized her. The other focus will be looking at society in this time with what occupied people’s attention and time, their fears, and desires.
