Being a company like Disney means balancing a schedule for a plethora of projects. The release date of She-Hulk has been pushed by one day. No reason was given, but it would avoid overlap with Andor when that releases in September. The Marvel series will now smash Disney Plus on Thursdays as it goes on the platform on August 18, not 17 as was originally planned.
The series will contain nine episodes of about 30 minutes long. As every Marvel series has had a different timeframe and style, from 45 minutes to hour-long action shows to condensed sitcoms, this will make for a courtroom drama-comedy as we see our lawyer protagonist deal with the justice system between the traditional judiciary way and the superhero method.
She-Hulk’s release date was pushed to August 18
Upon the She-Hulk release date, we will see Mark Ruffalo return as Bruce Banner to teach his cousin, big-time lawyer Jennifer Walters, played by Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), how to be a superhero. She will also balance a new job of dealing with superhero-related legal cases. She will also be met with some returning cast members to the MCU with Wong (Benedict Wong), Abomination (Tim Roth), and Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Newcomers to the MCU, like Maslany, will include Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant), and Josh Segarra (Arrow).
The show was created, executive produced, and written by Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty). Kat Coiro (The Mick) will direct six episodes (1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9), with Anu Valia (CollegeHumor Originals) directing the other three (5, 6, 7)
The show comes a week after I Am Groot, a series of shorts that will last about 20 minutes as it all drops on August 10. Phase 4 will officially end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 11. Sometime before the year ends, Disney Plus will see the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Not much is known about the special, except James Gunn called it an “epilogue” to the Phase and an important viewing for 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
The new release date for She-Hulk is August 18. It will be available on Disney Plus.
