The Saints Row reboot sometimes proves it can be just as wild as its immediate predecessors. Just take a look at the wide variety of vehicles offered in the game. This goes beyond just a car or bike. Rather, you can travel and even battle in complete style with more unique vehicles. One of these is the experimental hoverboard. We will help you unlock the hoverboard vehicle so you can delight in riding and killing enemies with more flair in Saints Row.

How to Unlock the Hoverboard in Saints Row

Saints Row Hoverboard Vehicle Unlock

Just like the wingsuit, the Prototype RTP 62-87 Hoverboard lets you traverse the world in a more interesting and fun way. But first, we need to unlock this vehicle. You can only unlock the hoverboard via a mission in Saints Row. First, play through the main campaign until you unlock the Criminal Empire table.

Once you do, you must build a few other Ventures until you reach Tier 2. This is because the hoverboard ties directly into the Eurekabator Venture in Saints Row. So, head to your HQ and build the Eurekabator! at any available lot. This will cost you $100,000, some come prepared.

When the Venture is constructed, you get Eurekabator missions on the map. Check for the icon shaped like a head. For the hoverboard unlock in Saints Row, complete the “Alpha Test” mission so you can test out the vehicle. To test this, simply hop on it and follow the instructions.

This is a great way to try out the hoverboard feature in Saints Row because you will learn exactly how to use it beyond just riding around. The hoverboard is also a combat vehicle, as you can make an AoE shockwave with it. It’s a fun way to knock back vehicles and people, but if you slam it correctly, you can blow vehicles up.

The hoverboard is also a nice way to escape a crowd of enemies. Just remember, though, that it won’t do much to enemies with shield protections. Also, it isn’t seamless to control, so you want to get in some good practice with it.

The hoverboard functions like a vehicle with some additional features added on. It isn’t the fastest vehicle around, though, but once you know how to use it, it’s a nice way to add some flavor to the combat.

Here are the exact hoverboard controls in Saints Row for PC and console:

PC:

    • Movement: WASD Keys
    • Jump: Space Bar
    • In-Air Slam Attack: Right Click

PlayStation:

  • Movement: Analog Stick
  • Jump: X
  • In-Air Slam Attack: L2

Xbox:

  • Movement: Analog Stick
  • Jump: A
  • In-Air Slam Attack: LT
