Do you have a cell phone? If you do, then you have a lightsaber, thanks to Lightsaber Escape, a free mini-game from Google.
Unless you have been living under a rock or stranded on a desert island recently, you’d be sure to know that Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens this Friday, as the marketing campaign for the film has been in full swing for quite awhile now. Google’s free Lightsaber Escape game will turn your phone into a lightsaber; all you’ll need is a desktop and mobile phone. You can get started here on your PC internet browser.
Lightsaber Escape was built for Google Chrome, but it should work on all desktop and mobile browsers. Once you visit the link above on your desktop internet browser you’ll be provided with a unique URL to visit on your phone or tablet. Doing this will pair the mobile and desktop sites for the game. You’ll then be prompted to calibrate your phone by holding it vertically which should only take a few seconds. Once it’s paired the screen on your phone will turn into the hilt of a lightsaber and with the push of a button you’ll hear that iconic snap hiss. You’ll complete a short tutorial and before you know it be deflecting blaster shots back at storm troopers while making your escape from a Star Destroyer.
It’s worth a play through at least once for any Star Wars fan and it’s bound to be a fun experience for kids, making them feel like a real Jedi. This Star Wars themed game was created by Google in conjunction with Lucas film to coincide with the upcoming Star Wars film’s release. Star Wars: The Force Awakens open this Friday, December 18th in theaters everywhere.
