Each week Epic Games adds new quests and tasks for Fortnite players to complete and earn extra experience points. Most of these quests are designed in a way to encourage players to try out new or old mechanisms, check out new locations, or a mixture of both. As part of this week’s challenges, players must dislodge a Runaway Boulder with a slide kick, and here is how to do it in Fortnite Season 4.

How to Dislodge a Runaway Boulder with Slide Kick in Fortnite

The hardest part of this task or quest is actually to find a Runaway Boulder first. The best places to look for are the top of snowy mountains in the northwest region near Rave Cave and Logjam Junction.

Once you found the Runaway Boulder, you have to dislodge it with Slide Kick. This is the part that most players find frustrating. This is because slide kicks don’t deal much damage, and it seems it will take forever to dislodge the boulder by doing this. Not necessarily.

The task is to dislodge the boulder with a slide kick, not to entirely reduce the health of Runaway Boulder and make it dislodge with Slide Kick. What this means is that all you have to do is make sure that your last hit that dislodges the boulder is a slide kick.

So all you have to do is, find a Runaway Boulder and then use your harvesting tool to reduce its health bar. A Runaway Boulder has a total of 180 health points. Once it reaches around 25 health points, put away your harvesting tool and start doing slide kicks until the boulder dislodges.

In case you don’t know how to slide kick, simply run and then hit the crouch button. Once you dislodged the boulder with a slide kick, the quest will be complete, and you shall receive the 20,000 XP the game promised.

Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
